Religions and Philosophies in Asia and Asian Diaspora
Our researchers study the historical trajectories and contemporary significance of religious communities, practices and philosophical traditions in Asia and Asian diasporic societies. Amongst the questions that they explore are:
• What kinds of life worlds and ways of being are articulated through religious and philosophical thought?
• What is their relationship to trans-national processes of modernization, colonialism and migration?
• How do they reflect, challenge, or contest the political regimes of immigration, integration and secularism, as they are widely debated in the Western world today?
