* Four Foundations courses are included on the list of eligible courses. Because they are at the 1000 level, and students are only permitted to count one full course equivalent (6 credit hours) at the 1000 level toward the Certificate requirements, those Foundations courses will be credited for the purposes of the Certificate at 6.0 credit hours, though they count as 9.0 credit hours for the purposes of students' degree requirements.

Please note: some courses have prerequisites, or are limited to honours and majors students in the subject. Students must meet the requirements specified by the individual departments or Faculties pertaining to such matters. Students should consult the mini-calendars of the various departments or faculties for specific admission requirements for any course they are interested in.

Note also: York University offers a Certificate in Professional Ethics. Students may enroll in both Certificates, but courses will not be double-counted, that is, any individual course will be taken as fulfilling the requirements of only one of the two ethics Certificates.
