York's printing services receives Forest Stewardship Council certification

York University’s Printing Services is one of the first in-plant printers in Canada to receive Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification. The certification follows the completion of an in-depth audit and inspection of York's Printing Services. The FSC certification means that York community members can now choose to lighten their ecological footprint by selecting FSC-certified paper for their printing needs.

The mission of the FSC is to "support environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world’s forests". If you would like to promote your use of FSC papers by including the FSC product label, you will need to print the materials with an FSC-certified printer.

As part of the Chain of Custody, FSC-certified printers are authorized to apply the FSC logo and product label to printed materials such as reports, brochures, invitations, and stationery. York University’s Printing Services is one of the first in-plant printers in Canada to receive this certification following an in depth audit and inspection.

Next time you print, consider reducing your ecological footprint by using FSC-certified paper at Printing Services. For more information visit the York Printing Services Web site.
