Health Behaviour and Health Education over the Lifespan

Health Behaviour and Health Education focuses on health-related knowledge and beliefs, social and behavioural change, and health status at the individual, family, community and social policy levels. It involves the development and evaluation of activities designed to understand, prevent and control disease and injury, and to improve and promote individual and community health and quality of life. This encompasses physical, biological, social, economic, psychological and spiritual health as it applies to individuals and populations at different points in the life span. For individuals, health over the lifespan is concerned with identifying issues that contribute to the maintenance and variation in health status, and developing interventions to maximize health through critical stages of human development from the prenatal period to the process of death and dying.
