| CAMPUS NOTES Tennis parking changes in effect beginning Aug. 13 The Rogers Cup 2005 women's tennis tournament will take place at the Rexall Centre from Saturday, Aug. 13, to Sunday, Aug. 21, and affect parking at York's Keele campus as follows. Reserve tennis parking Parking lots which will be utilized for reserved tennis parking are listed as follows:
Tennis patrons and participants are required to display valid Tennis Parking Passes. These lots will be occupied for this event from 7am Saturday, Aug. 13, until Sunday, Aug. 21, at 9pm. * Shoreham Drive Lot will be closed to the general public for this event from 11pm. Thursday, Aug. 11, until Sunday, Aug. 21, at 9pm. York permit holders York will minimize the effects to the community by preserving a predetermined quantity of parking spots for permit holders and by upgrading and/or redirecting displaced permit holders during the tournament. If you are a permit holder in any of the above-listed lots, please refer to the chart below for parking during this period. Upgrades to these lots are provided at no additional charges. Permit holders who normally park in the Founders Road West Lot should park in the Founders Road East Lot. Permit holders for the Shoreham Drive Lot should park in the Aboretum Parking Garage. Cash pay-on-entry tournament parking During the tennis event, lots designated for Tennis Canada cash parking will charge a flat fee of $10 for the entire period. The following chart depicts the parking lots available for mixed usage of cash pay-on-entry and permits during the tennis tournament period:
The Student Services Parking Garage (south entrance) will also be available for regular parking patrons. The intention is not to displace any permit holders in York Boulevard Lot, Pond Road East Lot, and Sentinel Road East Lot by these arrangements. However, as these lots will be filled on a first-come first-served basis, should you be inadvertently displaced, you may be upgraded to the Student Services Parking Garage at no additional cost. York visitor/short-term parking During the tennis tournament period, visitor and short-term parking will be available in the following lots for the York community:
There will be no short-term parking available in the following lots:

Traffic restriction – Shoreham Drive For the duration of the tennis tournament (Saturday, Aug. 13, to Sunday, Aug. 21), the following road restriction will be in place between the hours of 9am and 11pm, except Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (Aug. 16-18) when it will last until midnight.
Shoreham Drive will not be available for general York community use during this time, as this will be restricted to bus shuttles and authorized tennis patrons only. Please use all other access points for entering and exiting campus. Parking Services regrets any inconvenience and thanks all for their cooperation. |
