| NEWSWIRE A call to York's emerging student leaders
Facilitation is provided by professionals and experts in the fields of business, academia, private sector and government. Some of this year's presenters include representatives from the World Bank, the Chumir Foundation and Tata Consultancy Services. All full-time undergraduate students are eligible to apply (with the exception of past participants of this program). Fifty students will be accepted to participate based on their application packages, with preference given to second and third year students. Every effort will be made to have fair representation by gender, across country and regional origin, and by academic program. Participation in EGLR is free to students who are selected to participate. Accommodation and meals are also included. Applications for the Emerging Global Leaders Retreat are available online by clicking here. The retreat will take place Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 14 & 15, 2006. The deadline to apply is Friday, Nov. 18, 2005.
York International also organizes EGLR for Ontario high-school students as well as EGLR International, which is presented to local high-school students in other countries, such as Barbados and St. Kitt's in the Caribbean.
