CAMPUS NOTES

PositiveSpace orientation session takes place Nov. 10
PositiveSpace is an initiative of SexGen York. The Positive Space Program supports the growth, freedom and expression of all members of the York community who embrace a diverse sexual orientation or gender identity. York strives to create a positive space for all lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning (LGBTQQ) people. Once someone has attended a PositiveSpace session they are provided with a sticker. The PositiveSpace stickers indicate the spaces at York where there are people who have made an effort to become familiar with the issues and assumptions that surround sexually and gender diverse people.

The next PositiveSpace session will take place Nov. 10, from 1 to 4pm in the Harry Crowe Room, 109 Atkinson Bldg., on the Keele campus. Those interested in participating in the PositiveSpace session should confirm their attendance by e-mail to Debbie Burke-Benn, senior adviser, education and communications, Office of the Ombudsperson and Centre for Human Rights, at burke@yorku.ca.
