| CAMPUS NOTES Students can now apply for the 2006 Determined to build a better world. Bristling with new ideas. A budding leader. Fully engaged in the community. Driven to achieve academic excellence. Does this describe a student you know? If so, the person may qualify for one of the Canada Millennium Scholarship Foundation's Millennium Excellence National In-course Awards. Millennium Excellence National In-course Awards support tomorrow's leaders – post-secondary students who are committed to turning visionary ideas into reality. Awards of $4,000 to $5,000 will enable them to continue improving their community, implementing new ideas and maintaining a solid academic record. These awards are not loans; they do not have to be repaid, and will not increase student debt. A total of 46 York University students will be eligible this year to receive these national awards. The application period for the 2006 Millennium National Excellence In-course Awards is now open. This year York University is participating in a pilot project with the Millennium Foundation in which York students can apply online. For detailed information and a link to the online application visit the Student Financial Services Web page. Information sessions are being held on Keele campus in the Accolade East building on the following dates and times:
The same information will be provided at all the sessions. Potential applicants are advised to review the information on the Web site before attending the information sessions. Student tax forms now available on the Web York students, both current and previously registered, can print their own T2202A and T4A tax forms from the Web. The online T2202A is the government-approved form which shows how much tuition students have paid for the prior calendar year, and illustrates the Education Credits for the period. These forms are not mailed; students can access their forms for 2005 or for prior years from the Web by clicking here. The T4A form reflects any scholarships or bursaries students have received from York. Hard copies of the T4A has been mailed to eligible student to the address on their York student record. If for any reason students require duplicate forms, they can print them by clicking here. These forms are password protected, behind Passport York, and only the student will be able to print the forms for their own use, for their parents or accountants, as needed. The forms are available in both English and French. In addition, T4 forms, which reflect any income students have earned at York, are sent through Human Resources, and are not yet available online. Staff who have questions about the administration of tax forms, or the relevant policies and procedures, should contact Lee Smith, Student Financial Services, by e-mail.
