Is there a cost associated with joining the York Circle?

At present, joining the York Circle is free of charge.

Do I have to become a Member in order to attend York Circle events?

The Lecture and Lunch Series events are for Members and their guests. To be eligible to attend these events, you must join the York Circle. To join, please complete the online Membership form. Once you have joined, you will also need to RSVP for these events.

The Prestigious Performances Series is open to Members and the general public. However, if you become a member of the York Circle, you receive a discount on ticket purchases for the performances (a savings of over 25%).

May I bring a guest to a York Circle Event? Will my guest automatically become a York Circle Member?

We encourage York Circle Members to bring a guest to the York Circle events -- we are interested in building a community of curious, like-minded people. If you plan to bring a guest to a Lecture & Lunch event, you must register the guest in advance – at the time that you submit your own RSVP.

Your guest will not automatically become a Member, but can join the York Circle by completing a membership form online or at the event they attend.

I'm a current student or faculty member, but would still like to participate in York Circle events. How can I do so?

Although current students of York and faculty cannot join the York Circle, they can participate in the Lecture & Lunch Series events as a guest of a Member. We are also pleased to welcome York students and faculty to participate in the ticketed Prestigious Performances Series.

I would like to become a Member of the York Circle but I am not available for the next event. Is that ok?

Yes. We have designed the membership form and RSVP for the York Circle Lecture and Lunch Series to be discrete processes. Join the York Circle by completing the membership form. Bookmark The York Circle Web site to learn about upcoming events. Members will also receive communication about upcoming events by their preferred method of contact (as indicated on the membership form).

If I become a Member, when will I receive a Membership card?

Membership cards are issued to all York Circle Members: available for pick-up at our Lecture & Lunch Series events OR members can contact the York Circle to request that their membership card be mailed to them. Membership cards will be mailed out in June or in November, immediately following the Lecture & Lunch events.

Is there an admission fee for York Circle events?

There is no admission fee for the York Circle Lecture & Lunch Series, although Members and guests are encouraged to bring their own bagged lunch or to purchase a lunch from the onsite concession. Advance registration (i.e. RSVP) for each event is required.

You need to purchase tickets in order to attend our Prestigious Performances Series. As a Member, you can take advantage of the membership rate of only $12.95 per ticket. (a savings of over 25% of the regular ticket price).
