York University 's official card is more than just photo ID. It provides services that will make your life on campus more convenient.

yu can do it all!
Your YU-card provides access to academic resources at York and other institutions, including the York Libraries. It will also provide access to Tait McKenzie facilities if you have purchased a membership.

Your YU-card is also your campus debit card to buy food, supplies and other items at over 40 retailers including the Bookstore. Just add funds to your YU-card and save on banking transaction fees.

When can I get one?
Full-time faculty and staff can begin to get their YU-cards immediately. YU-cards will be available to part-time employees in the near future.

Is the YU-card mandatory?
No, however the YU-card will be required for full-time faculty and staff if you wish to obtain a new/replacement Library card or access Tait McKenzie. Existing Library cards will continue to be accepted at this time.

How do I get one?
Visit the YU-card Office to have your photo taken. You will need your York employee ID number and one piece of valid, government-issued photo identification. Your photo will be taken and you will receive your YU-card on the spot.
