Vocal Masterclass on Canadian Song with Soprano Caroline Schiller

Soprano Caroline Schiller leads a masterclass for students in the Department of Music's classical vocal performance program, accompanied by pianists Karen Rymal and Raisa Nakhmanovich.

Dr. Schiller is equally at home in concert, opera and music theatre. She has participated in the creation and performance of opera and concert works with a host of companies including the Banff Centre, Tanglewood Music Center, Ottawa International Chamber Music Festival, Dartington International Institute and Indian River Festival.
Professional highlights include appearances with the Boston Symphony Chamber Orchestra and L’Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, and her performances in the role of Christine in the original Toronto cast of Phantom of the Opera. Conductors and directors with whom she has worked include Marc David, Charles Dutoit, Joachim Herz, Oliver Knussen, Harold Prince, Brian Rintoul and Kelly Robinson.
Dr. Schiller's honours include the prestigious Young Singer of the Year Award in Llangollen, Wales and the Canadian National Music Festival in Voice. She teaches voice and directs opera at Memorial University, Nfld.
