Teaching your students what they need to succeed: Research, writing and critical thinking skills
Oct 13, 2011, 1pm-4pm
with our Learning Commons partners and Ros Woodhouse (Educational Developer, CST; Writing Department, LA&PS)
Practicum Category: Collaborative learning and/or other active learning strategies
Do you want to help your students to make their written work even better? (Are you sometimes disappointed or discouraged by some of the work you read?) If so, this session is for you! Find out about some simple but innovative ways to improve your students' work and academic success (and ultimately make marking more rewarding for you!). Bring your experience and observations about your students' work to the session: find out how recent research reframes the challenges of academic work for students, problem solve and plan for your next courses with expert advice, and find out about resources you can draw on in future. We look forward to working with you on an exciting new initiative to build student success, co-sponsored by the Centre for the Support of Teaching and the Learning Commons.
