Exhibition: Sheri Granite - 'Echo'
Oct 24, 2011 to Nov 4, 2011
Echo is an exhibition of surreal photography and sculpture by third-year visual arts major Sheri Granite.
The artist explores the cycle of life and social conditioning through artwork that asks personal questions regarding identity.
In particular, Granite is interested in the damage we cause to nature and the damage we cause ourselves.
Instilling her static works with a sense of motion, she uses long exposures to extend the moment in time that a snapshot takes and imbues her sculptures with energy to make them appear kinetic.
