York Dance Ensemble: Tangled Dances

The York Dance Ensemble, the lively young repertory company of the Department of Dance, presents a compelling collection of works by established and rising dance artists.
The YDE’s artistic and managing director, Professor Holly Small, directs this showcase production. Production design is by dance Professor William Mackwood.

Program highlights:
• Darcey Callison’s exuberant escapade Down the Road
• Resistance, a new work for large ensemble by Shae Zukiwsky
• It's Just What You Do, a duet about true love by Anne Goad
• Short Ride in a Fast Machine, a trio choreographed and performed by Yvon Allard, Miles Gosse and Nikolaos Markakis
• Suddenly Everyone... an interdisciplinary exploration of music, dance, text and design, created in collaboration with YDE members, conceived and directed by Holly Small
• Small’s Tangled Rags, a suite of three tender, soulful dances for large ensemble, set to James Tenney’s composition "Three Rags" performed by pianist and York music Professor Casey Sokol.
