Exhibition: Four Young People; Two Photovoice Projects
Mar 8, 2012, 5pm-6:15pm
From lecture hall to art gallery, Photovoice proves a flexible cross-disciplinary way for artists, researchers, teachers, and community workers to engage with young people about what is most important to them.
We are pleased to invite you to a panel and discussion by youth on at York University. Three panellists will present Photovoice, a collaboration between the Office of the Provincial Advocate for Children & Youth (OPACY), Westview Centennial Secondary School, Success Beyond Limits, The Spot and The AGYU (Art Gallery of York University), which culminated in an exhibition in Feb. 4 to 20, 2011. One panellist will present her Photovoice work as a participant in a student research project in March 2011, which is now part of the Canadian Children’s Culture Collection. Four Young People; Two Photovoice Projects is hosted by Worlds of Childhood, a foundations course offered by York's Children’s Studies Program, Department of Humanities, with support from the Humanities Foundation Program.
Admission is free. Everyone is welcome to attend.
