CMA Schulich Accounting Seminar Series presents: Aldonio Ferreira
Mar 16, 2012, 12:30pm-2:30pm
Title of the paper: "The drivers of involvement of management accountants in the strategic management process: the role of skills and individual attributes"
Abstract: This study examines the role of skills and other individual attributes in the involvement of management accountants (MAs) in the strategic management process (SMP). Prior research suggests that such involvement is associated with increased strategic effectiveness, but there is little indication of what drives such involvement. Drawing upon role theory, this paper investigates the relationship between MAs’ individual attributes – such as creativity, psychological empowerment, skills (analytical, communication and interpersonal) and work experience – and MAs’ involvement in the SMP of organisations.
