How Canada's Legislation Ensures Lobbying is Transparent & Ethical: Lecture by Karen Shepherd

Speaker: Karen E. Shepherd, commissioner of lobbying of Canada.

Karen E. Shepherd was appointed to the position of commissioner of lobbying in June 2009. Her mandate includes maintaining a registry of lobbyists, implementing education programs to explain the requirements of the Lobbying Act and the Lobbyists’ Code of Conduct and ensuring compliance with both the Act and the Code. Commissioner Shepherd will give an overview of the Lobbying Act and discuss how the legislation’s requirements lead to more transparency.
