May 2, 2012, 10am-12pm
The Office of Research Services (ORS) is coordinating a CIHR Information Session for those faculty members who are in the process of or considering preparing an application to the upcoming CIHR Operating Grant competitions with a registration deadline of August 15 for the open operating grants competition.
All eligible researchers are encouraged to attend this session. This session is intended to provide researchers a general overview of the granting council, its peer review process, and tips and techniques on how to write a successful application.
The session will be led by Dr. Ron Pearlman, Department of Biology, Faculty of Science & Engineering. Dr. Pearlman will discuss processes and procedures relevant to preparing and submitting CIHR grants, and proposal writing including how to prepare for peer review. Specific strategies for a successful application will be discussed to assist first time applicants who may not be familiar with CIHR, and previously unsuccessful applicants who are re- submitting. CIHR funds research in all areas of health research and this session will be of interest to researchers in all areas, from biomedical, to social science and humanities, to clinical.
To assist ORS in planning this session, please confirm your attendance by contacting ORS at ext. 55055 (research@yorku.ca).
