York's Terry Fox Run 2012
Sep 16, 2012, 9am-2pm
A single dream. A world of hope. York’s 20th Terry Fox Run is just around the corner.
The event will take place Sunday, Sept. 16, from 9am to 2pm, starting along Campus Walk, Keele campus. Water, nutritious snacks and Terry Fox Certificates will be provided. Typically, the run/walk route is two to five kilometres, however, the route is yet to be confirmed. Check the york is U website for updates. This will be an accessible route. Strollers, wheelchairs and dogs are welcome.
It is all about coming together as a community and keeping a noble cause alive that was inspired by Terry Fox’s legacy. Last year, we collected over $13,000 and we are looking to raise more this year. Because of that we need you and your volunteering skills! If you are looking for a chance to get involved on campus and get some volunteering hours, this event is the one for you. We are looking to recruit a maximum of 30 volunteers this year. Or, if you rather, you can just participate.
There is no minimum or required donation to participate. As a student at York, you will find more beyond classrooms and lectures, and this will help you engage within the vibrant student community life at York. Our goal this year is to reach 500 participants compared to 300 participants last year. The event is open to public, all the York Students and staff, community groups, as well as neighboring residences around York University.
If you want to volunteer for us or if you have any questions about the event, e-mail yueventr@yorku.ca.
