Oct 4, 2012, 12pm-1pm
Join the Aboriginal Students’ Association at York (ASAY) and the Osgoode Indigenous Students’ Association (OISA) will celebrate the lives of their stolen sisters with a Sisters in Spirit Vigil at York. The vigil will open with a traditional prayer led by Anishnawbe Professor Robin Cavanagh of the Faculty of Environmental Studies and proceed with a sharing circle.
Participants are invited to share as few or as many words as they’d like from their heart, possibly in the form of poetry, story or song. The vigil will close with a tobacco offering. As the event will take place outside, rain or shine, dress weather appropriate.
