Mental Health Conference for Peer Leaders
Oct 31, 2012, 8:30am-4:30pm
With mental health becoming a growing concern on university campuses, it is important that we equip peer mentors with the tools they need to help themselves and others. As a peer leader you are a role model, a leader, and a peer; someone all students can look to and learn from. At this conference, peer mentors will have the opportunity to learn more about recognizing and helping students with mental health issues. We will help you to identify strategies you can employ to take care of yourself and to show others how they can do the same. We will also share with you ways in which you can spread the message about mental health awareness and help lift the stigma students may feel as a result of their mental health status.
