Roundtable for York students with disabilities
Oct 15, 2012, 2pm-4pm
Access York is proud to present the third annual Round-Table Discussion for York Students with Disabilities & York Administrators with President & Vice-Chancellor Mamdouh Shoukri, Vice-Provost Students Janet Morrison, Vice-President Academic & Provost Patrick Monahan, Chair of Access York Neita Israelite and Access York student representatives.
The discussion will be moderated by Nancy Viva-Davis Halifax, vice-chair faculty and staff, Access York, and Kaley Roosen, vice-chair students, Access York. The goal of the discussion is to join students with disabilities at York with its administrators to provide a safe space and conduit for disabled students to voice their opinions on various disabling barriers present at York University (whether they be educational, architectural, attitudinal, etc.) and suggestions for a future barrier-free University.
These concerns rarely reach the offices of the administrators who make decisions about resource allocation. This is one way to help prevent that. Further, it will give students an opportunity to voice what has or hasn't been working and what needs to be done.
To RSVP, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org (with any accommodation requests). Refreshments will be provided.
