Critical Thinking Workshop
Oct 16, 2012, 12:30pm-1:30pm
Many students entering college and university are faced with the challenge of mastering critical thinking skills. Current literature suggests that students who acquire various critical skills are more likely to successfully complete their degrees. This workshop will examine important aspects of critical thinking using Bloom’s current and revised taxonomy to explore various course and related applications. Robert A. Kenedy, a professor in the Department of Sociology at York University, has won four teaching awards and an award for service to students. He has written articles about peer education, integrating critical thinking skills into courses, and the importance of supporting student learning through teaching partnerships
