Brown Bag Lunch: Classrooms to Careers – where do you fit in?
Oct 31, 2012, 12pm-1:30pm
This session is led by Ruth Lawton, Learning & Teaching Fellow for Employability at Birmingham City University UK and convener of the Employability Developers group with an international membership of over 820. Student satisfaction, employability and even learning outcomes are all on the government agenda, but for most lecturers these are new areas outside of your comfort zone and knowledge. This workshop assumes that you are feeling some responsibility for the employability of your students and will give a brief outline of the current research, experience and resources. You can easily enhance the employability of your students – come and find out how. Refreshments will be provided, but please remember to bring your own lunch. Please try to be on time and plan to stay for the whole session. Each month the Teaching Commons hosts two or more 90-minute teaching related meetings aimed at York's new faculty. To attend a session, visit the Teaching Commons website to sign up. Please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org if you are unable to attend a booked session.
