The Elevator Pitch: Presenting Your Research in Conversation.
Oct 24, 2012, 2pm-4pm
To ALL York U graduate students,
Are you interested in homelessness, housing and/or poverty research? Then come join the Graduate Student Network on Homelessness for The Elevator Pitch: Presenting Your Research in Conversation.
A Meet & Greet will follow the presentations at 4 pm. Snacks and drinks will be provided!
What is an elevator pitch? An "Elevator Pitch" is a concise, carefully planned, and well-practiced description of your research that even your parents should be able to understand in the time it would take to ride up an elevator. With only 3 minutes at your disposal, you will have to distill your research into the most relevant, revealing and interesting facts.
This event will provide you with an opportunity to talk about and get feedback on your research from a group of your peers, while also learning about other great research that is happening across campus.
If you’d like to test your elevator pitch chops, please email Sabina Mirza (PhD student, Faculty of Education) at firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up. Space is limited, so hurry! Please refer to available timeslots below when emailing Sabina with your availability. Everyone is welcome to come watch, but please RSVP, as well.
