Classrooms to Careers workshop series for students (Transitioning from University to Work Life)

Oct 31, 2012 to Nov 2, 2012

Wondering what life after York is like? Interested in networking with alumni and hearing about what it’s like out in “the real world”? Classrooms to Careers is a new three-day workshop series being launched by York University’s Career Centre during Fall Co-Curricular Days (Oct. 31 – Nov. 2, 2012). The series will feature York University alumni speakers from diverse fields who will share their own career journeys, and present tips aimed at helping students to make the transition from university to work life. Hear what some York alumni have been doing since graduation and learn about:

  • How to Network Your Way to a Job
  • What Employers Look for When Hiring New Grads
  • What to Expect When You Land that First Job
  • How to Succeed in Your First Year on the Job
  • Workplace Etiquette and Employer Expectations
  • Skills Necessary for Success in the Workplace
  • Work/Life Balance
