Deena Levy, Master Acting Teacher to lead a powerful and inspiring one-day intensive acting workshop

This workshop will take place on Monday, Nov. 12 in the Senior Common Room, 021 Winters College.
Deena Levy, originally from Toronto, graduated from the Experimental Theatre Wing at NYU with honours. She is the creator and master teacher at Deena Levy Theatre Studio, where she has been teaching and directing actors and non-actors for 23 years.
She has worn many hats as producer, writer, director, and actor in collaboration on numerous production; working with such innovative artists as Anne Bogart, Richard LaGravenese, David Rabe, Nicky Silver, and William Fichtner.
The morning session will run from 9am to 12:30pm. This session will explore the instrument and will cover the following: chair work, processes, meisner exercises, sound circle and Q&A.
The afternoon session will run from 1:30 to 5pm. This session will explore movement (the floor work). Bring sweatpants, T-shirts and comfortable clothing as you will need to move! This session will cover: Grotowski technique, physicalizing of the imagination and impulses. There will also be work on scenes and monologues that are memorized.
