GIS Day Lecture : The Role of GIS in the Cloud

Nov 14, 2012, 2pm-3:30pm

Iain Greensmith, technical solutions specialist, Education and Research, ESRI Canada, will be the guest speaker for the GIS Day Lecture looking at the Role of GIS in the Cloud.

It is truly amazing to see that as technology continues to evolve, geography is increasingly being taking into consideration. People want to know what is where? Why it is there? And why they should care about it? In the lecture, Greensmith will discuss the growth of the web as a platform and how solutions have evolved to provide software as a service to end users which have changed the way in which we interact with traditional spatial technology. Refreshments and snacks will be served.
