Relief and Reconstruction in the Philippines: The Processes and Politics of Aid
Jan 20, 2014, 2pm-4pm
As Typhoon Haiyan recedes from the headlines, but leaves many still suffering in the Philippines, this panel will discuss the ways in which relief aid was delivered from Canada through family networks, churches, humanitarian organizations and NGOs. What have we learnt about the processes and politics of relief aid? And, as the recovery continues, how is the reconstruction effort being framed and contested?
