Community Safety Council Open Forum
Feb 11, 2014, 4pm-5:30pm
The Community Safety Council has organized an open forum to discuss student rights and responsibilities. This will be an opportunity to become more familiar with the Student Code of Rights and Responsibilities and corresponding support services, mediation services available to community members and information about how York University is working to foster a safer campus, including collaborative efforts with Toronto Police Services, 31 Division.
Three 15-inute presentations will be made by: the Office of Student Conflict and Resolution Osgoode Mediation Services and Toronto Police Services, followed by a panel Q&A session. Various community partners will also be in attendance to answer questions, including York Security Services, the Centre for Human Rights, Counselling and Disability Services, Community Relations and CLASP.
The open forum will also be an opportunity for dialogue among the York community, to discuss current challenges and opportunities regarding campus safety. If you are unable to attend and would like to submit a question to the panellists, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
