Friday, Feb. 28 will be a discussion and speakers' panel with special guests Maria Campbell, Cherie Dimaline and Giles Benaway, who will be discussing "Identity and Resistance" in 1005 Osgoode Hall starting at 10am. A student discussion panel will also take place, and York U student and CASS member Falon Andy will be presenting her work at noon.
Saturday, March 1 is the Pow Wow in the Vari Hall Rotunda, where grand entry will be at 12pm and the Pow Wow will run until 5pm. This year an Education and Career Fair will be happening on the second floor from 12 to 5pm. Be sure to check out the vendors and find that special hand-made gift from one of the many local artisans. The Gala and Feast will take place in the Underground starting at 6pm, with performances by: Kim Anderson, a Métis fiddler; Qatsuu Evic and Pam Sevigny, Inuit throat singers; and Spirit Wind, a women's hand drum group.
The artwork that Isaac Weber produces at the opening will be auctioned off at the gala, with all proceeds being donated to ASAY. There will be a PWYC donation request of a suggested $5 to be donated to ASAY or a non-perishable food item, which will be donated to the York Federation of Students Food Bank.
