"Fovea": Visual Arts Open House
Mar 26, 2014, 5:30pm-8:30pm
The Department of Visual Art & Art History presents a gala evening with Fovea, a spectacular open house featuring hundreds of works in print media, drawing, painting, photography, sculpture and time-based art created by the rising young talent in the department.
The open house exhibition transforms the entire Joan & Martin Goldfarb Centre for Fine Arts into one giant art party, with works on view in studios on all four floors throughout the building, as well as the Gales Gallery in the Accolade West Building.
More than $7000 in prizes will be awarded to student artists.
The awards ceremony takes place in the lobby at 6pm.
Works by 12 upper-year students will be selected from Fovea for the annual graduation show of the Department of Visual Art & Art History, to be held at Toronto's Propeller Centre for Visual Arts March 19-30.
Fovea is coordinated by Professors Marc Couroux, Dan Adler and Janet Jones, Studio Manager Andrew Gugan, and Visual Art Student Association representatives Betty Zhang and Jennier Laiwint.
