IRIS Campus Survey: Are You an Active Bystander? Building a Aafer Community, Together
Mar 17, 2014 to Mar 28, 2014
Each year the Institute for Research and Innovation in Sustainability (IRIS) conducts a campus sustainability survey in partnership with the York University administration. The topic of this year's survey is "Are you an active bystander? Building a safer community, together". The purpose of this survey is to help inform the University about future safety initiatives, including ones built around the concept of being an active bystande,r which is essentially intervening in situations when others need help.
The survey is anonymous. It is not intended to test hypotheses. Its objectives are:
- to determine how and when York community members feel comfortable intervening;
- to determine the current level of knowledge about existing safety initiative on campus;
- to gather data on York University community members' safety concerns to inform future programming; and
- to understand how community members feel broadly about the sense of community on campus.
