CDM Distinguished Lecture Series: On Poisson-Nernst-Planck Models for Ionic Flow through Ion Channel

Abstract: In this talk, Weishi Liu will report his recent research, joint with a number of collaborators, on Poisson-Nernst-Planck (PNP) type systems, a class of primitive continuum models for electrodiffusion, mainly in the content of ionic flow through membrane channels.
Bio: Weishi Liu received his PhD from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1997, was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Missouri-Columbia from 1997-99, and joined the faculty at the University of Kansas in 1999. His research interest is nonlinear dynamical system theory and its applications.
