York librarians at OLA Super Conference
A number of York librarians went to the Ontario Library Association 2009 Super Conference at the start of February. Thousands of library people from all over the province, from all kinds of libraries, go and talk about what they do and how to make libraries better.
- Julie Drexler, Andrea Kosavic, Mark Robertson and Adam Taves were members of the planning committee.
- Stacy Allison-Cassin and William Denton delivered a session on One Big Library. They recorded the talk and you can download an MP3.
- Sarah Coysh and Maura Matesic delivered a session on Making the Grade: Meeting the Requirements for Tenure.
- Julie Drexler discussed Finding French Language Academic Resources.
- John Dupuis talked about Science 2.0 & Community Building.
- Erin Fields delivered a poster session entitled YUL’s Web 2.0 workshops for Library Staff..
- Andrea Kosavic and Walter Giesbrecht delivered a session called Once More with Meaning: The Semantic Web
- Rajiv Nariani and F. Tim Knight talked about Simplifying Research: The Joy of LibX and Keeping Up with RSS.
