By one o'clock, football mania is in full bloom - then the team rounds the ice rink and enters York Stadium. The red-jerseyed Yeomen cross the sideline and burst into a sprint, unleashing whoops and war cries. The stands erupt with pride, cheering wildly. H2K is here. But Homecoming is more than football. It's an event-filled weekend. It's alumni soaking up nostalgia; some here to see old friends, others to show the kids where mom and dad first met, and others to build upon their university memories. Whatever the history, the fall celebration gains popularity each year. York's 1999 gala featured 31 events and a packed stadium for the game.
