CAPITAL ALUMNI PICNIC IN MARYLAND

Washington DC and area alumni had an enjoyable time on June 6th at a picnic in Tysons Corner, Maryland. Alumni attending spent time sharing stories of York in the Seventies and Eighties. The event was a pot-luck and thanks to everyone for bringing such delicious items!

We are hopeful that the Washington D.C. area branch of the York University Alumni Association will grow and hold several events each year. Deepak Molhotra has agreed to help move the branch forward in the next few years but if you are interested in helping please feel free to be in touch with him through the office of alumni affairs (listed below). A special thank you also to Sidney Schwartz and Adrian Wolfberg for their continued assistance with the development of an alumni branch and York's U.S. foundation! Tentanda Via!

STONG COLLEGE ALUMNI -- "GREEN MACHINE INVITATIONAL"

The Stong College Alumni Chapter held their annual "Green Machine Invitational Golf Tournament" on Sunday June 21st, 1998 at the Cardinal Golf Club. The tournament was a great success with 50 alumni participating in the "best ball" format event on a sweltering hot Father's Day. Lesley Hanham (BA '96) reported that a fun time was had by all and "It was great to see Stong alumni of all ages mixing and mingling." Celebrity appearances are not uncommon at this event -- Joey Jeremiah of Degrassi Jr. High fame was spotted on the course. Special thanks go to Michelle "EmJay" Jones, Albert "Chachi" Gregori and to all the committee volunteers for their help in making this event happen. The committee suggests that the participants keep practising their game as they hope to see everyone again next year.
