WHETHER YOU'RE a pub crawler, a football fan, or a poetry lover, you're going to love what we've got planned for York's 40th anniversary Homecoming'99 event.

Check out our Yeomen footballers. Cheer them on to certain victory over the Western Mustangs on Saturday, Sept. 25. (Go team go!) Then kick back and do some post-game relaxing with one of Canada's hottest bands, 54-40, in the Underground.

Homecoming celebrations get underway Thursday night, Sept. 23, with Calumet College's reading series featuring hipster and all-around cool guy Daniel Richler, host of CBC Newsworld's "Big Life." Be sure to check out the Glendon Family Carnival with BBQs and an alumni craft market, or explore the pioneer life - free for all York faculty, staff, alumni and students - at Black Creek Pioneer Village.

If you're a literary type you'll hang off every word of Canadian man of letters legend Al Purdy who reads from his latest work. And there's much much more. For the whole story see events listings that follow.
