OTTAWA EVENT

The Ottawa Branch of the York University Alumni Association invites all Ottawa area alumni to a special wine tasting and hors d'oeuvres reception on Thursday, March 9, 2000 at 6 pm at the Laurentian Club, 252 Metcalfe Street, Ottawa. This event will be hosted by fellow York alumnus, Dr. Steve MacLean, Director General, Canadian Astronaut Program, Canadian Space Agency, who will give a brief address.

KITCHENER-WATERLOO (GOLDEN TRIANGLE) EVENT

The Golden Triangle Branch of the York University Alumni Association invite all alumni in the Kitchener-Waterloo Region to attend a business luncheon on Thursday, March 30, 2000. York's graduating design students will present a show titled "Freshly Squeezed" at the Design Exchange, Ground Level (234 Bay St.). The show runs May 1-6.

FEMINIST RESEARCH


The Centre for Feminist Research will present the 14th annual conference on "Equity in the Classroom, Equity in the Curriculum," May 11 - 12. IN ITALIAN-CANADIAN STUDIES


The Mariano A. Elia Chair in Italian-Canadian Studies lecture series titled "Narrating the Self-Italian Canadians Between History and Myth" continues March 15 with a presentation by Charlie (Calogero) Chiarelli titled "Cu'fu? FACULTY OF FINE ARTS


The Dance Department will present "Dance Innovations," March 14-18 in the Joseph G. Green Studio Theatre, CFT. "York Dance Ensemble Downtown" will perform April 1 & 2 at the Betty Oliphant Theatre (404 Jarvis St.) For ticket information, call (416) 650-8030.

The York Gamelan Orchestra will present a concert of traditional Javanese music March 26 at 3 pm, McLaughlin Performance Hall.

York's annual Jazz Bash will feature the Jazz Choir and Orchestra on March 28 at 8 pm.; a Jazz Faculty Concert on March 29 at 8 pm.; and Student Jazz Combos on March 30 beginning at 5 pm. Performances will take place in the McLaughlin JCR. For more information, call (416) 736-5186.
