Toronto's Brazilian Carnival Ball is hot, hot, hot
- Founder and President of the Ball, Anna Maria de Souza, started the Toronto tradition in 1966.
- Over the years, the Ball has supported:
- The Ontario Heart Foundation
- The Hospital for Sick Children
- Sunnybrook Health Science Centre
- Doctor's Hospital
- University of Toronto
- Funds from the 1998 Ball are expected to be more than $1 million.
- By 1997 the Ball had raised more than $13 million.
