THE FIFTH QUARTER CLUB'S INAUGURAL GOLF TOURNAMENT

The Fifth Quarter Club (Yeomen Football Alumni Chapter) held its inaugural golf tournament at the Cardinal Golf Club on Friday, August 21. The tournament was a huge success as more than 70 golfers turned out to show their tremendous support for the Yeomen Football team and were treated to good weather, great company and a flawlessly run event. Special appearances were made by André Batson, of former York fame, and Nealon Greene of the Toronto Argos although it is rumoured they should stick to football. Coach Tom Arnott would like to thank everyone who participated, donated prizes and helped with the organization of the event. Special thanks go to Guy Burry (BA '82) and Liz Lundell (BA '82, BEd '82, MA '89) who added a touch of class to the tournament by donating a coffee table book, Camps of Algonquin, to every participant.

YORK ALUMNI "COME HOME"

Homecoming weekend was a success as York welcomed back alumni to campus for a weekend of fun, food and football on September 26 and 27. While the football game itself did not produce the results we had hoped for (the Yeomen lost to the Waterloo Warriors 54-3), alumni of all ages showed true York pride. Dr. Lorna Marsden, President of York University and Gary J. Smith, Vice-President (University Advancement), presented members of York's first football team of 1968 with commemorative sweatshirts. Once the game was finished alumni and students headed to the Underground to take in the first annual Homecoming concert featuring Spirit of the West.

To close out the Homecoming festivities the Atkinson chapter of the York University Alumni Association hosted their annual Harvest Brunch. Approximately 50 alumni, friends and family gathered in the Harry Leith Room. Dr. Lorna Marsden and Vice-President Smith both attended. Special thanks to Veronica Hui for organizing the event and to the many wonderful cooks for the delicious items.
