Membership in YURA is open to all retired employees of York University.  The association provides activities, communication, certain privileges, and representation for pensions and benefits on behalf of members.  The annual fee for membership is currently $20.00. The membership year runs from October 1 to September 30 each year.  Annual fees are due on or before September 30. New members may join at any time. See the membership form for prorated fees.

Membership is also open to spouses or partners, even if they have not worked at York, although they may not be eligible for all of the campus privileges that are available to former employees.

Numbering approximately 500 members, YURA has an elected Executive Committee and an office attached to the Retirement Planning Centre in 101 Central Square on the York Campus.  The office is administered on a part-time basis by volunteer members of YURA.  The staff can be reached by telephone at 416-736-2100, ext. 70664; or by e-mail at yura@yorku.ca.

YURA holds its annual meeting on the York campus in October each year, at which time members receive reports on activities and finances, elections are held for the Executive Committee, and members can mingle over an informal lunch.
