    York Youth Connection

It is with a heavy heart that we inform the community that the York Youth Connection Summer Day Camp will cease operations as of summer 2016. Over the last 3 years we have seen a decrease in the number of children attending YYC and an increase in the cost of running the camp. Due to these and other challenges, we made the decision to close YYC.

York University is committed to providing quality programming to young people on our campuses. There are a wide variety of summer camps offered to the community. In order to support access to these existing camps we have developed the York Camps Subsidy Fund. This Fund will cover the cost of registration fees for children and youth who could not otherwise afford it.

For more information, visit the York Camps Subsidy Fund webpage.

Or contact Mandi Hickman, manager, Community Relations by phone at 416-736-2100 x.77529 or by email at comrel@yorku.ca

Please note that the following Summer Camps remain available at York University:

SciX: Science Explorations Summer Camps (Gr. 3-8)

The Science Engagement Office offers innovative and engaging programs designed to inspire youth and discover exciting topics in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).  Out of the Faculty of Science at York University, our programs use a discovery and inquiry-based learning approach that is focused on ‘learning by doing’. Our outreach model provides students with a chance to work in small groups on a variety of projects that will help foster problem solving, critical thinking, and an overall passion for STEM.

Helix Summer Science Institute (Gr. 9-12)

The Faculty of Science is offering high school enrichment programs for students with an interest in science and mathematics. The program will target gifted and/or high performing students. Helix consists of a series of week-long non-credit courses for students in Grades 9 to 12. Our courses highlight specific research strengths within the Faculty of Science and are delivered by faculty and graduate students.

Glendon Athletic Club Tennis Camps (Ages 6-14)

The Glendon Athletic Club offers full day instructional tennis camps for children ages 6 to 14, taught by certified tennis professionals. Campers will be grouped according to their age and ability and taken through a series of lessons designed to introduce new skills and build on the lessons and experiences from the day before. A typical camp day includes on-court instruction, round robin play plus multi-sport activities (dodgeball, soccer and basketball). As well, all campers will enjoy a daily swim in our indoor pool. Camp fee includes an entry souvenir and a fresh daily lunch served in our campus cafeteria.
