Cameron Branston (BA ‘01)


Cameron Branston is a seasoned professional in government relations, foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction, and international trade. Based in Waterloo, Ontario, Cameron collaborates with companies from California and Texas, helping them leverage the talent and innovation of the Waterloo Region to establish and grow their presence in Canada. Prior to his current role, Cameron served as a Senior Investment Officer at the High Commission of Canada in London, representing Alberta’s UK Office. There, he led initiatives to attract FDI, advance international trade opportunities, and manage government relations. During his time in England, Cameron was also elected as a Municipal Councillor in Buckinghamshire, where he represented his community and contributed to impactful local governance. Since returning to Canada in May 2022, Cameron has continued his commitment to community development by mentoring new Canadians through the YMCA Immigrant Services Program. Cameron holds a Specialized Honours BA in Political Science from Glendon, York University, and a Master's degree in Nationalism Studies from the University of Edinburgh. His academic background and professional expertise reflect a deep understanding of global markets, public policy, and international collaboration.
