Associate Professor
Anne-Marie Lewis completed her M.A. at Rutgers University and her Ph.D. at McMaster University under the direction of noted Vergilian scholar Alexander G. McKay. She teaches Ancient Greek and Latin in the Department of Languages, Literatures & Linguistics at York University in Toronto. She served as Editor of Amphora, a publication of the American Philological Association, from 2000-2007 and is the past President of the American Association for Neo-Latin Studies. She has published on topics dealing with astronomy and astrology in Roman culture and literature during the lifetime of Augustus (in particular, the works of Ovid), and she also researches in the area of Neo-Latin poetry and prose written in England and France during the sixteenth century.
