Spring’s Convocation 2022 was the longest convocation period in York University history with 26 ceremonies! A unique period as we welcomed grads from 2020, 2021, and 2022 to cross the stage and celebrate their incredible achievements.
Among the graduates was Hortense Anglin, 85, older sister of Osra Lindo, who made headlines in 2018 for graduating at 79. To be eligible for a bachelor’s degree program in York’s Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies, Anglin underwent the pathway bridging program. This program allows Anglin and others access to a York University education.
Noah Shebib aka '40', famously known as Drake's producer and co-founder of OVO Sound, received an honourary degree for his contributions to music, philanthropy work and business ventures. Shebib, who creates positive change through music and advocacy, has also worked to raise awareness in research for multiple sclerosis. Most recently, he co-founded The Justice Fund, an organization working in and with communities and other organizations to address the effects of trauma and cycles of conflict.
A huge congratulations to all of our graduates, we are so proud of you!
