Please apply for residence by May 1, 2021

It’s a great time to say yes to York!

In a recent community update our President shared the good news that we are  actively planning to increase on-campus learning opportunities this Fall. Our plans are focused on gradually bringing small classes and co-curricular opportunities back onto our campuses as much as possible, while also prioritizing health and safety for all students.  High-quality remote learning will also continue.

We are very excited to welcome students to campus in the months ahead. In the meantime, we want to provide additional support and clarification on what this means for on-campus residence and quarantine requirements.

On-Campus Residence

For many students, living in residence is an important part of your university experience and a great opportunity to create lasting friendships. It is our hope to safely offer on-campus residence to as many interested students as current public health guidance and residence capacity will allow.

If you are planning to apply for housing for the Fall/Winter 2021-2022 academic year, we encourage you to apply for residence by May 1, as soon as possible, to improve your chances of securing a residence assignment. After that date we will provide a space on a first-come, first-served basis.

Community support extends far beyond your room assignment at York. Stay tuned! Whether you join us on campus in residence or off campus from home, you will be connected to peers, mentors, your Residence Life team, academic advisors and other services to support your successful transition.

Quarantine Support

If you will be arriving on campus this Fall from outside of Ontario or Canada, York University has a comprehensive quarantine program to support your arrival. Review the York Quarantine Information webpage for details.

Whatever your individual situation, there is a welcoming and accommodating place reserved just for you at York University this Fall.
