A new transitional parking option will be available when paid parking resumes on both the Keele and Glendon campuses effective September 1, 2021, as part of the planned return to campus in fall.
A new multi-pack prepaid option offers savings of up to 40% off the daily rates, depending on monthly usage and the pass type selected. In addition, community members will continue to have access to a range of daily and monthly parking options to suit their individual needs.
NEW! Transitional Multi-Pack
The new transitional parking option will be available in the form of a flexible Daily Multi-Pack prepaid pass. Available through the HONK Mobile app, the Daily Multi-Pack prepaid pass offers 10 full-day parking sessions to be used within a 30-day period.
This option provides savings of up to 40% off daily rates, depending on the type of pass selected and the number of times the pass is used during the month.
- The Surface Lot Multi-Pack is valid at all hourly/daily surface lots and on-street parking areas
- The Garage Multi-Pack is valid at the parking garages and includes all other hourly/daily surface lots and on-street parking areas.
Permit Parking
Sessional parking permits will be available for purchase online only.
Outer-Reserved and Reserved Permit lots will require a permit; daily payment options are not available at these lots at this time.
Clients who held a Reserved or Garage permit in March 2020, but do not wish to purchase a permit for 2021-22, can have their space held until May 2022. Permits not renewed in May 2022 will be offered to the next person on the waitlist.
Hourly/Daily Parking
Hourly/daily parking continues to be available at many on-street locations, surface lots and garages.
Payments can be made at the pay stations located in these parking areas.
In addition, contactless payments are now available through HONK Mobile. HONK Mobile enables new payment methods like Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal in addition to VISA and MasterCard. HONK Mobile payments can be made using an iOS or Android mobile device by either:
- Downloading the free HONK Mobile app from your device’s app store
- Tapping your phone at one of the HONK Tap signs located in each parking area
Please note: Hourly/daily parking in the garages will require payment upon arrival and can only be made through HONK Mobile.
Helping You Plan
Community members now have a wider selection of parking options from which to choose. The following demonstrates common scenarios and recommended options based on cost:
Parking on campus one (1) time per week or less?
Hourly/daily parking would be the most cost-effective option.
Parking on campus twice per week or up to 10 times per month?
The new daily HONK Multi-Pack would provide flexibility and value.
Parking on campus three or more times per week?
A Sessional permit would be the most cost-effective option.
Parking Services has implemented several digital enhancements to improve the customer experience including:
- Enhanced online permit purchase system
- Virtual license plate-based permits
- HONK Mobile payments for all hourly/daily parking locations
- Mobile license plate recognition technology
- Elimination of entry/exit gates in all permit lots and garages
