Action Required: Important Notice Regarding Winter Term (October 27, 2021)

In preparation for the Winter 2022 academic term, York’s Vaccination Mandate has been updated, effective today. This includes the following key deadlines for disclosing your vaccination status and uploading proof of vaccination onto YU Screen. Action is required by all students.

  • By November 8: You must disclose your vaccination status through YU Screen regardless of your current location and whether or not you are seeking access to the campus. Disclosure of vaccination status includes unvaccinated, partially vaccinated, fully vaccinated or seeking an exemption from vaccination.

This is essential for the University to assure community members that we are able to verify the vaccination status of all those who are, or may be, attending on our campuses.

  • By December 1: If you are seeking access to campus in January 2022, you must provide proof of vaccination on YU Screen. This includes accessing campus to take in-person classes, study, work, attend events, utilize student services, live on campus, and more.

We know there are students who reside in a country other than Canada, where they do not have access to a vaccine and are seeking access to campus for the Winter 2022 Term. We will send all international students a separate email with more specific information, which will also be available on Better Together once it is sent. Please also visit Better Together’s FAQs for more information. If you are in this situation and have additional questions, please contact York International at intlstudentquestions@yorku.ca for additional support.

If you have already uploaded your disclosure of vaccination status or proof of full vaccination on YU Screen, thank you. You do not need to take further action.

Compliance with York’s Vaccination Mandate

Students who plan to attend campus for the winter term and are out of compliance with the above timelines are at risk of de-enrolment

Those who have been granted an exemption must follow specified COVID-19 testing requirements. Note: submitting an exemption request does not constitute approval of the request. Direct confirmation of approval must be issued by the University.

Information on In-Person Courses

We look forward to a return to in-person learning for the majority of our courses. Final course delivery details will be available on the York University Courses website during the week of November 15, 2021. For Osgoode students, you will receive information about the Winter 2022 term directly from Osgoode.

More information will be emailed to you as it becomes available. Please check the Better Together website for the latest communications and FAQs.

Sincerely,
