Welcoming you back to our campuses

Welcoming you back to our campuses

Dear York Community,

With the University’s phased return to in-person activities well underway, I am pleased to welcome back all those who returned to our campuses on January 31, as well as the large cohort of students, staff, faculty, and course instructors who return today.

I hope that you will take notice of the new and improved health and safety–focused supports, services, and protocols in place for all community members on our campuses, many of which were detailed in a recent message from Prof. Parissa Safai, Special Advisor for Academic Continuity Planning and COVID-19 Response.

I want to acknowledge that there have been a wide range of reactions to the return to our campuses. Please be assured that while the pandemic is ongoing, so too is our work to advance the University’s health and safety protocols. As always, your health and well-being remain our highest priority, and the University will continue to work closely with public health authorities and all levels of government to ensure that our multi-layered approach to health and safety is in keeping with the most up-to-date municipal and provincial guidance. I encourage you to visit the YU Better Together website for the latest information and updates.

I look forward to seeing you on our campuses in the coming weeks, and to having the opportunity to resume many of the in-person activities that our community members have been missing.Sincerely,

Rhonda L. Lenton
President & Vice-Chancellor
